Highlights: A History

The first edition of the County Highlights was published in 1993. Lillian Miles, then Labor Market Analyst for the Gary Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area, originated the idea for this descriptive area publication.

Highlights are now a web publication and, as a result, the data can be updated throughout the year, not just on an annual basis. These Highlights are available in easy-to-use web format but are also printable and e-mailable and provide a snapshot of critical population and workforce statistics for each of Indiana’s 92 counties, 11 Economic Growth Regions, and the State of Indiana.
